My Work as an Editorial Assistant
I supported the daily publishing process for the Simply Write and Simply Said Substack publications. Responsibilities included editing articles; writing Easy Listening and Throwback Thursday guest roundups based on the Simply Write and Simply Said podcasts; and creating marketing and promotional content, along with other administrative tasks, including:
Creating and formatting one sheets and résumés using Canva and Adobe products
Tracking and scheduling publishing deadlines
Curating work sprints for pop-up classes and speaking events
Writing and distributing promotional content
Conducting ad hoc research

Where Business Meets Writing
Over fifteen years of my career was spent in corporate business with a focus on construction and real estate development. Deadlines, spreadsheets, budgets, and thinking ten steps ahead was part of the daily workload.
Being part of an editorial team allowed me to access every part of who I am as a professional—a skilled project manager who thrives on deadlines and schedules and whose passion is to write and edit.
